Hudson Lights up Lakefront Park for the Holidays

On Friday, November 29, 2019, at 7 p.m., a new twist will be added to the holiday season kickoff in Hudson, WI.  Immediately after Santa lights up downtown Hudson’s historic district along Second Street, he will lead a stroll westward along First Street where he will illuminate Lakefront Park.

The light show will celebrate “Buena Vista: A Stroll in the Park,” in honor of the original name given by founders to Historic Hudson, WI. Lakefront Park will be adorned with a canopy of lights and sparkling ornaments which will remain lit during evening hours concurrent with events that run throughout the holiday season. Also that evening, the Hudson High School Swing Choir will perform in the bandshell at 7:15 p.m.

“Buena Vista: A Stroll in the Park” is an expansion of a Historic Hudson tradition that recreates a festive and nostalgic atmosphere which promotes:

  • Community – bringing together residents, tourists, civic groups and local organizations
  • Safety – illuminating the park and providing off-street activities for families and friends
  • Giving Back – as participation in “Buena Vista” grows, its organizers expect to reinvest proceeds into educational and philanthropic programs

In addition, Hudson’s “Light Up Night” along with “Buena Vista” will feature event specials provided by local merchants, the Hudson Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau and other civic organizations. The event is provided in partnership with SavATree and sponsored in part by the City of Hudson along with private and public donors who are listed at hudsonfortheholidays.org.
